Technology: Lateral Reading

Resources for information on current and developing technologies.

Lateral Reading

"Lateral reading" refers to the practice of opening new tabs to find out information about an information source.

This differs from "vertical reading" which refers to learning about a source only from the source itself.

Fact Checking

Professional fact-checkers ask three questions:

1. Who is behind this information?

2. What do other sources say about them?

3. What is the evidence for their claims?
