Why We Cite
When you use information (data, images, ideas, quotations, etc.) in your projects, reference the original source by providing details about where you found the information:
- To give credit where it is due.
- To help your audience find your sources, which could help their research.
- To show there is support to back up the ideas you present.
- To establish your credibility by demonstrating your use of information from reliable sources.
- To avoid plagiarism.
