Names are crucial for finding historical information

As you do your research, make a list of all the significant names you find (include alternate names and spellings).

Names of influential individuals: legendary, historical, and honorific

Names of empires and historical periods

Names of groups of people, nationalities, etc.

Names of places: geographic and political.

Names of events

Knowing these can help you discover the information you need and identify the information you have.
